Voting Information

Early voting in the primary election starts on Saturday, June 15. 

Please be aware of these key dates:

  • June 15: The last day to apply by mail or online for an absentee ballot.
  • June 24: The last day to apply in-person for an absentee ballot.
  • June 15 – June 23: Early in-person voting.
  • June 25: Election day.

If you have requested and received a mail-in ballot for early or absentee voting, make sure to send it back ASAP to ensure your vote is counted. There are a few ways you can do so:

  • Put your ballot in the mail and ensure it receives a postmark no later than June 25; it must be received by the County Board of Elections no later than July 2.
  • Bring it to your County Board of Elections Office no later than 9:00 PM on June 25.
  • Bring it to an early voting poll site between June 15 and June 23.
  • Bring it to a poll site by 9:00 PM on June 25.

Early In-Person Voting

 

Early in-person voting in the primary election for New York’s 16th Congressional District starts TODAY.

Early in-person voting runs through June 23 – make a plan to vote early if you can! You can also vote in person on election day, June 25.

  • Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Monday, June 17, 2024 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Friday, June 21, 2024 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Early Mail Ballots

  1. Who qualifies? Any registered voter may apply for an early mail ballot. Each person must apply for themselves. It is a felony to make a false statement in an application for an early mail ballot, to attempt to cast an illegal ballot, or to help anyone to cast an illegal ballot.
  2. The online application can be accessed here:https://ballotapplication.elections.ny.gov/home/earlymail
  3. The application is due by June 15, 2024. Early mail ballot materials will be sent about 6 weeks in advance, and then on a rolling basis as applications come in.
  4. Once you receive the ballot, you can mail it back (must be postmarked by June 25th) or drop it off in person:
    1. to your County Board of Elections Office no later than June 25th by 9pm.
    2. to an early voting poll site in your county between June 15th and June 23rd.
  1. to a poll site in your county on June 25th by 9pm.

Absentee Ballot

  1. Who qualifies? You may qualify for the following reasons (more listed online):
  1. Absent from your county or, if a resident of New York City absent from the five boroughs, on Election Day
  2. Unable to appear at the polls due to temporary or permanent illness or disability
  3. Unable to appear because you are the primary care giver of one or more individuals who are ill or physically disabled

  2. The application is due by June 15, 2024
  3. Once you receive the ballot, you can mail it back (must be postmarked by June 25th) or drop it off in person:
    1. to your County Board of Elections Office no later than June 25th by 9pm.
    2. to an early voting poll site in your county between June 15th and June 23rd.
    3. to a poll site in your county on June 25th by 9pm.
