A short film, conversation, and brunch

The Holocaust Learning Center Committee presents a film screening and conversation with survivor Fred Behrend and filmmaker Larry Hanover. The documentary spans Fred’s remarkable life, from a youth shattered by Kristallnacht, his family’s flight to Cuba and then the US, and a stint in the US army teaching democracy to German prisoners of war, to a miraculous reunion with his boyhood friend Henry Baum, also a survivor, eighty years later. Come for a moving, heartwarming and uplifting morning. Teens as well as adults are encouraged to attend and hear Fred’s story of survival and triumph.
