This past year our hearts swelled at the massive global effort to evacuate and find safe homes for Afghans fleeing for their lives; and they broke seeing people whose lives are in danger being turned away at border crossings around the world. Refugee Shabbat 2022, powered by HIAS, is a critical moment for all of us to redouble our support for refugees and asylum seekers. Join us on March 5 to hear from WJC member David Everett retired colonel, United States Army Reserve, with combat zone deployment to Afghanistan, and Haroon Ghafoor, who came to live in America on a Special Immigrant Visa from Afghanistan.
